aw yiss first comment.

What's your team up to? Have they made any ridiculous videos lately? Do Oilers fans walk among us, and did you see your team troll the Habs this morning? Is anyone else laughing their faces off at the Habs in general?

There's at least three Oilers fans on meme and aside from that time they were annoyed that everyone was upset they won the lottery last year, they are some of my favorite memers.

Somebody said ECHL teams only have 9 forwards. Does that mean that only run 3 lines?

What's good, what's not.

Re: Hockey questions

They can have more than 9 forwards. The ECHL restricts the number of dressed players to 18, but 2 of those have to be goalies, leaving slots for only 16 skates. So according to the site I linked below, teams "often" do use only 3 forward lines.

I checked rosters of one of the ECHL teams near me and it lists 13 forwards, 7 D, and 2 goalies, so obviously some of the skaters are sitting out each game.

It's harsh, man.

Valentines Day is coming up!!! Can't wait to see all the single guys' "jokes"!!!

SA I would imagine that this makes players who are comfortable playing both forward and defense, such as from having switched positions in their late teens, fairly popular - as long as they're good enough for the ECHL but not so good they're going to be pulled up to higher leagues (and willing to play for an ECHL salary).

This may have already been brought up in the last post, but seriously, Johnny looks like a kid who's really proud of himself for scoring a hot, older date.

Re: Fandom Venting

This is more like meme venting, but I hate the game day threads.

Why do we need them, when you can talk about your team's games on a million different sites already???

Re: Writing Thread

From: (Anonymous)
I felt like my last couple of exchange fics were rushed and not really what I want to write anyway, so I thought I'd try to just write something. It's been so long since I've done that I don't even know where to start. Like I've got a ton of ideas.

Re: Fandom Venting

I am okay with game day threads, but vagueposting and/or liveblogging games gets annoying quick.

Another look into "why has Rinne been bad", and it supports the idea that he is better when he sees more shots which some have disagreed with.

Re: Fandom Venting

Because I want to talk about my team's games here, with the nonnies on meme, who I in general like and whose opinions are in general worth hearing. (Though if you could point me to an active game discussion site for my team that isn't full of gross misogynists and/or morons who think players are made out of steel and should never show weakness other than meme, by all means, go ahead.) Also it's nice to get a quick look at people's reactions to the other games going on at the same time, even if I wouldn't go out of my way to find a discussion of those teams normally.

If they really bug you that much, I hear DW blocker's pretty good. And they all have the same phrase in their title, so they're not hard to block.

They foster community engagement in the sport of hockey and provide a way for people to keep tabs on multiple teams throughout the league while growing community spirit as people chat with other memers.

In the first post, someone starts a thread for all preseason games. It is very successful, for the time.

http://dekedangle-rpfanon.dreamwidth.org/722.html?thread=805842#cmt805842
A thread is started for the first day of the regular season listing all of that day's games as a celebration of the start of the season.

http://dekedangle-rpfanon.dreamwidth.org/722.html?thread=842450#cmt842450
Eight days later, a thread is started to discuss a specific Penguins/Stars game.

http://dekedangle-rpfanon.dreamwidth.org/722.html?thread=938450#cmt938450
Three weeks later, a thread is started to discuss a specific Penguins/Jets game.

http://dekedangle-rpfanon.dreamwidth.org/722.html?thread=943826#cmt943826
The next day, a "live" game thread is started on the hook of the US nationally television Capitals/Blackhawks game. People watching other teams' games are invited to also join in.

Three days later, someone just up and starts a Game Day Thread with no fuss/no muss.
