(nayart) having watched him a quite a bit this last season (the year before I was in NBC controlled air this year I wasn't), while there are many times I wanted to throw something at the TV I don't think it would be THAT bad (like I don't think he would say anything like gay people have no place in hockey or anything so outright homophobic). But I don't think it would be good either.

If you (can stand to) listen to how he talks about PK it's all, "he's a great guy, such a gentleman, I love him, but he's a [lists negative black athlete stereotypes]". So I imagine it would be very similar sort of dichotomy for the player who came out. He'd probably go on for a bit about how brave the guy was before starting in on something about him being a distraction from the real focus of hockey or something like that (also it would probably depends on who it was I'm pretty sure Stamkos can do no wrong and he's coming out would be the greatest thing to ever happen to hockey but Ovechkin coming out would be selfish and he should have kept it to himself).
