This is the twelfth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

1. Mods retain the right to delete, freeze, and/or screen threads and comments.

I've been obsessing over this picture since it was posted. It makes me SO HAPPY, for all the reasons you mentioned. Though Paul looks a bit... gaunt.

ayrt Yeah that was in the back of my head, but I wasn't sure if it was just me. We're definitely way more used to hockey players who put on weight when they retire.

AO3 question: how do you filter out pairings or characters in advanced search? I've been able to filter out anonymous authors and word count, but the same syntax doesn't seem to work for the characters and relationships fields.

I know there's ao3 savior, but it doesn't work on mobile.

-"character/character" or just -"character name" in the search bar (not the tag bar). Remember Ao3 puts relationships alphabetically by last name.

I'm not surprised it's that way with Toews stans tbh. They've all drunk the INTANGIBLES!!!!! LEADERSHIP!!!!! BOOTSRAPS!!!!!! narrative koolaid that's shoved down our throats every year by the media. I guess it's hard facing it. Some PKane stans would've probably thought this whole thing was a possibility, Segs stans probably expect him to say something stupid once a year (this year he's already said two things that are stupid) but not Toews stans.

You can also track down the # associated with the synned tags and that would catch all of them, I believe. I don't filter out pairings so I've never tried it, though.

As a none Islanders fan, I really like the black jersey. I'd wear it, not because I support the team but more as a ~fashion~ choice lol. I can see it being used in a lot of streetstyle photos, actually. Like NYFW next year maybe.

Though I do think Puck Daddy was right in saying sometimes the stylistic look of a jersey looks better on a team that matches it's personality, and that it would've looked cool with say, the Kings more than it does with the Islanders.

IDK, for me those explanations are simply variations on why he's shitty. Is he shitty because of loyalty to a person, or a team? Is he shitty because he thinks Kane's accuser is lying, or because he doesn't care if Kane's a rapist?

I was never a Blackhawks fan and I've written them off entirely now, but I can see interest in dissecting the shittiness, I suppose. I think that can be done without excusing; it's all, absolutely, his personal choice to support a probable rapist. But it's possible to discuss what factors play into rape apologism and dismissal, and which specific factors are at play here, without treating rape apologists like they're just victims of the ambient morality.
