#23 — Brown Goes Down

This is the twenty-third post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Yeah. Pens are down to 5D for most of a game, Maatta's out longterm (or should be), Caps get a two-minute penalty and maybe Orpik pays a pocket change fine. Why wouldn't you make those hits?

Even a suspension wouldn't balance things out, and wouldn't really do much to work in Pittsburgh's favor either. There needs to be a culture where that sort of thing is unacceptable, and DoPS needs to be consistent and watchful of all offenses, not just the worst ones.

Yes. I have it in more for some teams than others, because some (WSH, CBJ) seem to intentionally encourage players to play that way, but ultimately it's the league's job to regulate this stuff, and it just doesn't. And I've seen stats for how much worse the new DoPS is about this stuff than when Shanahan was in charge of it. It's actually getting worse.
