Total fics posted this month 259, versus last month's total of 185. The bump is almost entirely due to the exchange that just went live.

This was definitely the month the Hawks came roaring back. Until the exchange reveals today, a solid third of all the fic posted this month was Hawks fic. The exchange is where about half of the draft class 2015 fic came from and almost all the Eichel/McDavid. Caps are surging; Stars are on a multi-month lull relative to previous volume. Wings break the ten-fic mark almost entirely on the strength of those 2-3 authors that really like punishment.

Benn/Seguin (15 / 13)

So all you folks that have complained you were getting tired of the Backstrom Geico commercial, what do you think of the new one where Backstrom talks to the ghost of Lord Stanley?

People hate that Backstrom commercial??? Even before I knew who he was I loved it! I love the message even though lately it makes me sad because I love nothing to the extent it shows players love hockey :/

I think Roman Josi is the hottest looking NHL player, so for my shallow side sake, I really want more fic of him.

My shallow addition: I really want Marco Scandella/Josi just for the pretty. Plus inter-division rivalry is always fun. (I would also love a whole bunch of Josi/Jones, because also very pretty, and there's photographic evidence of them hanging out at concerts and such for some inspiration.)

(To the best of my knowledge they don't know each other beyond both being d-guys in Thunderdome. Anybody that knows differently please share with meme.)

I'm a little sad so many people hide their kinky stuff behind socks in this fandom. I understand why they do it - I have a kink sock, too - but it would be fun to know which fluffy romance authors I read are also into my weird niche kinks.

Maybe I'm just overconfident in my writing style guessing game, but of the socked kinky writers I can think of, I kinda feel like a good chunk of them are genuinely new to this fandom and don't have much if any non-sock activity (if it actually counts as a sock at that point).

Haha never. Every time I write a new sock fic or talk about my kinks here I'm like "oh no I've said too much, someone is going to put the pieces together on me."

Now that the caps are out, Michael Latta's posts about it make me so sad. I hope I'm wrong about the caps not signing him again because he seems to really like the team. :( But... I still think that. :(

I don't remember where I found it (maybe RMNB?) but his thing about basically just being happy to be around Mike Richards, even if it landed him a permanent seat in the press box, made me a little sad for him. And then talking about Richie hanging out with Wilson and Latta off the ice made me sad that Richie isn't part of the old married dudes club, which is how I have him filed in my brain against all reason.

Anybody know of any timeline primers for Jamie and Segs? Friend looking to possibly start writing in this fandom and I'm trying to find some history for them. Either genish or pairing based any is fine (I have seen the Segs/Brownie ones from way back so I do not need those)

So I was watching the game last night and everyone was pretty much ready to kill Kunitz and openly hating him and it got me thinking about how in 5,6 years Geno might not be playing that well anymore and that people will probably start praying for a trade and/or hating him too and it made me sad. lol @me and my emotions.
