I'm assuming this is the same person as 'integrity of the gifset' (whose name I don't remember because I blocked the whole lot of them).

... what's 'integrity of the gifset' supposed to mean?

Re: Fandom Venting

(Anonymous) 2016-05-03 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
The Pens gifmaker who was pitching fits about people ruining the integrity of their gifsets by adding comments.

TBF, puckling and that crew's commentary was generally pretty annoying.

Yeah, that's how tumblr works. The whole 'commentary is for tags' is dumb. If they'd really objected, they just could have blocked them.

I don't think Tumblr had a block feature back them. You can't really declare how someone should feel about people they don't like interacting with their posts. Like, fandom as a whole is collaborative, sure, but I don't think not wanting people not squee or write mini-fic on your gifsets is any different than, like, people in K-Pop fandom saying "do not edit" on their posts.

Whatever, dude. I think it's silly, you apparently think it's my dictating their feelings. You makes your media and you takes your chances.

Your comment made it clear that you felt some way about how the creator should feel, especially since they weren't doing something to prevent using, uh, something that didn't exist, but okay.

Yes , I'm not going to go off on people about it but when one of my posts is circulating with a dumb addition from puckling I cringe.

Well, she's done with nhl fandom and tumblr for the foreseeable, so you're probably fine.

ayrt

Ah really, that explains why I haven't seen her additions around recently.

+1

Especially now that you can't go in and edit their comment back out if you want to reblog.

I'm not on my computer at the moment, so I can't tell you the exact combo, but there are Stylish or New XKit extensions that make it so you can edit/delete comments again.

op

iirc, This blogger was part of that but I don't know if it's the one you're thinking of. Since I feel the need for more disclosure before others get cited, this particular blogger also works for a news site.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-04 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Ah yes, I believe said blogger also reports blogs at the drop of a hat. They'll get you banned quick quick if they object to anything you post particularly if it's from their precious news site. I blocked a while ago.

I would too, if I knew who they were. I remember bumping into their blog at some point when searching for new blogs to follow, but can't remember the name anymore. The actual news site tumblr I have blocked.

Name of the team but replace the 'u' with 'w'. Happy blocking:)

Yeah calling out something for reading your blog is just an asshole move to begin with, with everything else? Better to avoid them completely.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-04 01:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, THEM. They're one of only two hockey Tumblrs (that I've noticed) that has blocked ME, and I could never figure out why. I've been wondering for more than a year.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-04 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
If you post a picture of yourself in the tag, they will block you. or something in the tag that they felt was unnecessary they'll block you. I think if you live blog games too

Re: Fandom Venting

(Anonymous) 2016-05-04 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't do any of those things, except I very, very occasionally put something in the tag. Like, once a month. Usually a photo I snagged from somewhere. I guess that could be it.

(Anonymous) 2016-05-04 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Dumb tumblr question: How do you know if you're blocked?

Re: Fandom Venting

(Anonymous) 2016-05-05 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
You try to reblog something that originated from them, and Tumblr tells you you can't.
