My two favorite fics of hers aren't even about Sid. I think she's a wonderful writer with more of a range than you're claiming.

She has Crosby fixation issues, and delusions about how good a writer she is, and if you think her writing is 'wonderful' then I think you're a moron. Sorry not sorry.

You think the Sid/Flower soulmate fic is about Sid? And the Sid/Brandon Christmas fic? Just two, off the top of my head. Just because he's in them doesn't mean they're about him.

And yeah, the fact that she has realistic (ie, non-fantasy) future fic and a canon-divergence high school AU and a cyberpunk-ish fic and a series with magic with religious overtones and a different series with team telepathy/soulbonding - yeah, I'd say that's some range.

......I think if someone includes a player as one half of the pairing, it's about that player on some level. But you're somewhat right. Often Sid is her Gary Stu so the fic can't be "about" him when she's totally idealized him and is out of touch with Crosby in real life. The fics are more "about" the second half of the pairing, which surprise surprise! she also seems to know nothing about and turns them into crazy people. She could be writing about anyone, for all her characterizations have to do with the players she's picked. That's not range. I don't care if you think the ability to write both future fic and high school AU makes someone talented. Which. What?

Writing in a bunch of different genres? Yes, that is the definition of range. Not really sure what definition you're using.

I also wonder what you think good characterization looks like. Perhaps you would like to provide some examples.

Good characterization (in Pens fandom) looks like lightgetsin.

Yeah, I'm confused by this claim. Like, I like her stuff fine, but if I made a list of my top twenty favorite Pens fics, she might or might not make the list - partly because she just didn't write much. And if you like stuff with a more SFF bent or with more plot, she's not your author at all.

AYRT - I like one of the 3 but I didn't like the other two much. It seems a big claim for less than 25K words in total.

Her stupid sex positive weirdo Crosby fics are just as bad as TFV's robot shit, so I disagree.

Times like these make me happy my writing is so aggressively Alright no one feels the need to talk about it or how it compares to others lol.

You and me both, nonny. Writing pairings that like 5 other people care about also helps, lol.

Some people just have a reeeeeeally hard time recognizing that there's a difference between "I don't enjoy this" and "This is bad." Thank goodness they don't get to decide what does and does not get written in this fandom, because they clearly enjoy way less variety than I do.

I would say executing them well, with good, individualized characterization and world building, counts towards range than her writing however many different tropes. None of them are really in different genres, so to speak.

DA - Have you considered stopping reading her fic?

You obviously hate it, and yet you seem to have read all of it. Block her on AO3 don't read any exchanges in which she is taking part until after reveals I think it might be for the best.

With how weirdly hostile some people on here can be about Brandon Sutter, it makes me think some of the downjune hate is just because she likes him.

I remember when he got traded and I made some remark about it pleasing the Brandon Sutter hater, I was then immediately corrected that there are many Sutter haters! Not just one! I must have mashed them all up into one person because of how similar they are in being weirdly hostile at a guy just trying his best. imo anyway.

I don't care about the Pens at all, that one incident just sticks in my brain about how strange they can be sometimes.

Sorry, that was a digression. I've never actually read her fic so I don't know anything about it's quality.

Last time Sutter was brought up on meme (I think when people were wanking about downjune's fic in the hockey exchange), I seem to remember the same, "There are many Sutter haters!!!" reaction, lol.

No one's saying you have to like her stuff. It's fine if it's not your thing. It's not fine to say no one else should enjoy it either.

Just because you don't like her writing doesn't means that anyone who thinks she's a good writer is a moron.

There are two fics I have enjoyed by her but I would never say she's a good writer generally. And tbh I would judge anyone who did in namespace.
