My god, you could apply pretty much any fic description of PKane to Panarin and it would still work.

Except blond, but yeah.

I have literally read a fic featuring Panarin where he's described as blond. At this point I assume that any fic that has Panarin/Toews as a pairing would've been a K/T fic a year ago.

Oh my god, I actually did vaguely think his hair was blond until these comments.

Same here, and I haven't read fic with him. My only exposure has been occasional things on my dash. His hair isn't even Jensen Ackles blond(blond?). It's plain old medium brown. I have no idea what my brain is doing sometimes.

(I still have intermittent disagreements with friends over whether Nicklas Backstrom's hair is blond or strawberry blond, though, so I may not be the best judge)

It must be a blue dress thing, where in certain pictures, the light/coloring registers as such that the brain says "blond."

I think Backstrom's blond, but there are pics where his hair looks a bit reddish. His baby pics look super blond though, so I think he's a blond whose hair has darkened with age.

I've had a couple conversations with him. It definitely looks regular blonde IRL.

Same! I googled him and there are some pictures where the way the light shines on his hair makes him look blond.

I read that too and went wait, what. But if we are talking about the same fic, it was basically K/T except with one of the names changed.

Surely you can't just c/p Panarin for Kane, though. Like, I would hope Panarin's characterization would be different? Also you've got the age difference with Panarain/Toews that you don't have with K/T without an AU.

I can kinda see what people are saying in terms of superficial appearances, but as characters Panarin and Kane just seem like they would be totally different.

I was the anon the ayrt was talking to, and -- if she and I are talking about the same fic, the only reason why you couldn't just c/p Panarin for Kane was because Panarin's Russian-ness was remarked on a few times. That was his only distinct characterization; everything else you could absolutely just c/p one for the other.

So how's your first day in fandom treating you?

Other than the occasional patronizing asshole, I'm enjoying myself quite a bit!
