This morning's minor kerfuffle on Pens twitter was about a(n apparently doctored) video that purported to show Stralman's goal last night going THROUGH Murray's glove. Everyone from Murray to the Pens' equipment manager has denied it, so that pretty clearly didn't happen, but now I'm left wondering what it would mean if that did happen? I mean, I presume it would still count, but it sort of seems like maybe it shouldn't since the goalie did catch the puck, didn't drop it or anything? They can't do anything about the physical limits of the glove. Goals aren't supposed to go through the equipment.

I'm not positive on this, but glove with a hole seems like it should be treated as a broken goalie stick where it's just kind of a thing that can happen sometimes and if the puck goes in during that, just oh well.

I think a broken goalie mask is the only thing that affects the game and even then I don't think they blow the whistle unless it's obviously dislodged. Like I remember watching a Canes game where they said the goalie coach told Ward to shake his mask off if a strap came undone to get the repair stoppage.

Well, what about all the shots on a wide open net where the stick breaks?
