#23 — Brown Goes Down

Don't have much confidence in this team. So the Czech are going to destroy us. Then again, I hear Czech are playing just as bad. So maybe both team decided they don't want to win and try their best to help the other team win.

Don't forget luck! Luck could always happen too! It ain't over 'til it's over! There's a reason why they play the games etc. etc. etc.

I have a question about this team, though. Why is it so young? Is it by design? Are they already evaluating the next crop of Olympians or something? Last year's team seemed to have a lot more mid-career NHL-ers and this year seems to be made up of guys who only have a year or so, if that, of NHL experience.

A lot of the proven players declined, they don't consider this important. It doesn't help that the NHL World Cup is coming soon, though not by much.

Another is players that would have come are looking for new contract ex. Seth Jones. Alex Galchenyuk is hurt would have come I believe if he was healthy.

Some need rest, Jack Eichel play his first full season as a pro and Charlie Coyle, I think had a long season with the Wild. In the end, Hockey USA decided fuck it, lets just get the guys who want to come.

Yeah, a lot of the 2013 WJC team, who have gone in the past, are up for contracts. Other players like Vesey will be UFA and don't want to risk injury.
