Well Pierre also tried to compliment the Lightning but accidentally said "penguins" so I would believe this tbh.

I love the stories about how things work in actual locker rooms here.

...also, the ending of this one is hilarious.

All the parts about Flower were so great. *sniff*

Oh god, don't remind me. I think that's possibly the most infuriating example of Pierre's Penguins ass-licking I've ever heard, and that's saying something.

I missed that, but oh, of course he did. I don't know whether to lol, vomit a little in my mouth or go get my tinfoil hat. Maybe all of the above!

Now Palat has boarded Dumoulin, and Dumoulin lies there for a while before going down the tunnel.

In conclusion, Pens nonnie intimidated by the Lightning feels very justified in her intimidation. My expectations of a clean game where they didn't try to concuss our players have not been met, however.

Callahan to Letang, per McGuire: "That's coming all series."

I think we can all unanimously agree that the game was a nightmare, pls enjoy this pic of Vasilevskiy with a kitten.

Hey, I think there might be four of us now! Which is still not a lot, but is more Blues fans than I know IRL (being an out of market fan is rough), so it's pretty nice.

I don't think you really brought dishonor on our doorstep, either. I totally get being defensive, as I can definitely be the same way (one of my co-workers got the stink eye for suggesting Elliott didn't have what it took to start in the playoffs before round one started; he has since shut up, lol). I think the whole wanting to simplify things down to one player being great and playing the "what-if" game and being a bit dismissive is kind of natural after a loss, though. I've seen Blues fans do it (while at the same time trash talking the team, as is the sports fan way). It's really irritating when you're the one whose team is on the receiving end, though. I'm lucky to have friends of other less popular teams who let me rant at them until I feel better, haha.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, either. I love talking about the team to you and the other Blues nonnies on meme, and it's the playoffs! People are bound to get a bit tetchy about things.

(Sorry it took me awhile to reply. Was stuck on a bus for 13 hours, blergh.)

WTF is in the water in the East this year? Y'all have some crazy shit going down over there.

Re: Game Day Thread Friday, May 13, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
The West has been pretty crazy this year, too, just less...murderous.

Re: Game Day Thread Friday, May 13, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
It's been typical crazy in the West, though, I think. Maybe I'm just inured to what happens in Central Division.

This might be a long shot but does anyone have a copy of cheesewithmy's mythology verse? I found the first couple parts on my computer and I wish I had saved the rest :(

Re: Game Day Thread Friday, May 13, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Maybe even less crazy than normal Central Division craziness.

Yeah, so while I am used to this heart break and wtf-erky over here, I am not used to things coming out of the East to look so... murder-rage and hockey gods laughing.

I like to think this is the hockey gods deciding to give eastern conference fans a taste of what life in the fucking thunderdome is like.

Norway were so unlucky not to tie it up at the end there.

Re: Game Day Thread Friday, May 13, 2016

DA really? The Eastern conference has the Flyers and the Bruins, and the Capitals who are notoriously physical. And CBJ and Pens are the league's walking wounded most of the time. I don't know why anyone would think the east doesn't know rough hockey.

Ekstra Bladet had 3 articles about Nicklas Jensen's Forsberg dangle shootout goal when I woke up this morning. I guess the game is gaining some traction in Denmark these days.

I don't check into deke that often so sometimes I reply really late or not at all to some threads I've been part of, so you're ahead of me!

I really appreciate talking to you and the others Blues fans on here too. I don't know many Blues fans IRL either and it's good to not be alone in the emotional rollercoaster that is being a fan of anything.

Playoff hockey is another level of emotional rollercoaster altogether, you're right. My feelings got the best of me and I understand where I hit some sore spots for a few Stars fans. Not worrying about it too much anymore, although I feel bad about dissuading at least that one anon from rooting for our guys.

But maybe this was coming all along. I wouldn't be surprised to see STL and DAL matched up a lot in the next few years and have an intense rivalry develop, That's just how the playoffs are designed now and it's not a bad bet to say both teams playoff chances for the next few years are solid. (Though you never really know with the Central Thunderdome.)

But the Central is just the bestest roughest division in hockey and all the other divisions should be relegated. That's the implication, duh.
