Re: Fic Discussion - Deja vu

From: (Anonymous)
"the average amount of time the ball is in play on the field during an NFL game is about 11 minutes."

The article is definitely saying that there's only 11 minutes of play per 60 minute game. If you think they calculated it wrong or the games they studied are outliers adn should not be counted, fine, but the article says it's 11 minutes of play per game. It's not even expressed as a ratio, so I don't know why you're talking about ratios.

Also wanted to add that the rookie love's still going strong for me. Parayko had some fumbles, especially late in the game, but damn he's still looking like his elite upside is well within his reach. Batting the puck out of midair to clear it on the PK! If it hadn't happened so fast it'd have given me a heart attack.

Fabbri had two assists on the night! Played really well on the Backes-Bergy line and on the second PP unit. I thought if the game was gonna go the Blues way it'd be Backes or Fabbri scoring the winner. (And Jamie Benn if it had gone Stars.) I should really do Buccigross OT challenge more often. I was right about Oshie completing his hat trick too.

+1

Plus, I love that Victorian-era college kids slang is remnant in a name still used today.

SA Looking at the nominated pairings so far, and I am a fan of a lot of these. Also, I have some free slots if anyone has a pairing they'd like to see nominated.

... the mustache is saving my soul for now. The visuals for the next crying DStrome fic might be unusually strong, though.

When does Post #4 open?

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
Hahaha, same! The mustache is not a good look on him, but his crying face is still... yeah.

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
Yes, but the crying and red face >>>> the terrible mustache, which I have become tolerant of. But yeah, glad I'm not the only one in DStrome crying fic hell.

There was another angle which looked even funnier but I can only find this one:

yeah, I got a paragraph in and realized, and I am not someone who can normally guesses these things.

This is already pretty great, lol, thank you!

I like Holtby's flow.

If you're willing to look at past haircuts, there's also Karlsson and Letang.

Ayrt

That would be hot, and it's practical right? Bigger player = more space for eggs.

Like those kneeling fic where people have a mentor? But for tentacles. All the player know that they do stuff which is "wrong" but no one talks about it. What happens when your tentor gets traded do they start using it against you.

The rookies have all been so fantastic! Parayko still has those occasional lapses, but I'm so impressed with his overall play. Watching him develop is going to be so much fun. And the same goes for Fabbri. Some of the plays he's made to generate chances and set up goals have been fantastic (that whole sequence on the GWG in game 7 - be still my heart). He's looked good with both Backes-Bergy and Stastny-Brouwer. And also great on the PP. And Edmundson has been pretty solid, too, if more prone to being out of position and defensive lapses than Parayko. So excited about these kids.

I tend to get confused where there are a handful of stories in a pairing as part of an exchange, and it's clear all the recipients of those stories probably wrote for each other but you can't sort out which is by which.

This, however, was not one of those situations. :)

Is his hair blonde, or is it just the lighting?

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
no, it's blond. a couple of guys on the team did it, i think.

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
He's not in the NHL yet, but going by that interview yesterday -- Patrik Laine.

Haha, I should've mentioned Eddy too - 2nd career goal and 1st playoff goal!

Game 7 GWG sequence was excellent effort from everyone - the pass from Stas was great too - but Fabbri made it happen with the turnover. I rewatched that goal a lot, haha.

And I've dug up the link: https://streamable.com/xcxg

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

I assumed he bleached it for the playoffs.

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
It seems to be a playoff (?) thing for players that go to junior - like they can't grow much facial hair so instead they bleach their hair or something. It's weird. Several older players did this too. I remember Giroux did.

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
Letang has always been my favorite for this! Oshie used to have nice long locks too. He's mostly kept it short in the last year, but it seems to be growing out again this playoffs.

Re: Game Day Thread - May 1, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Yes, it was a really great effort from everyone! The goal itself may have been ugly as hell but that lead-up. Unf. Being a Game 7 GWG doesn't hurt, either.

I may have rewatched that goal a lot, too. It's like the antithesis of Bluesing-it-up.

(And I may need to rewatch it again now...)

i kind of admire their dedication. bleaching burns.

Re: Kinkmeme Discussion

In my experience, there's a lot of crying in hair bleaching as well. Not that I am seeing a theme there.
