I can't wait for that draft class to get older so I will feel less like an old creep reading about them. Not that I don't now, but it makes me feel ancient and just kind of weird, lol.

Not sure what I think of the changes to the Blues's lines. Happy to see Jaskin in the lineup, though! I hope he has a good game.

No Thornton :(

Oh it definitely has, this to me just feels like the last nail in the coffin.

I think he's probably 5th on the ballots.

Re: NHL Awards - Hart

Who do you think is 4th?

Re: NHL Awards - Hart

From: (Anonymous)
Holtby. (With the same caveats as the Vezina nom.)

Slightly OT but what's with people wanting random couples to have babies so bad, anyway? There's a few people who always post in my fave's tag about how he needs to get his girlfriend pregnant. Why does he need to do that? Why do you care so much if he does? Why.

Good for them if they get pregnant, I guess, but I don't get the "do it, do it NOW" mentality.

wtf that was the fastest period of hockey I remember in a while. I know they're rushing for horse reasons but I can't believe the first period ended by 1:30???

No penalties and very few whistles.

Stars remembered that they're a fast, fast team. First time in the playoffs that I thought, "wow, they're speedy."

The refs have a lot of money on horse Nyquist and want to be home in time to watch him win.

Malkin's been talking publicly about wanting a child for quite some time now. I'm sure there are a lot of cases where fandom is kinda creepily projecting its desires onto real people's lives, but this doesn't seem to me to be one of them.

This was gorgeous but man do I hate that cover. It's nothing compared to Adele.

I guess people want their fave to have a kid because they think it'll be cute or he'll be a cute dad? I don't get it either, but I also care about other people's kids unless they're related to me lol. I'm not a kid person.

I think I've come full circle. Now, instead of being annoyed at all the Kentucky Derby talk, I'm finding it amusing to hear all these hockey commentators try to talk horse racing.

lol, it actually kind of want to watch it, but they keep saying it only takes 2 minutes? what a letdown!

Eddie is covering the Derby! I'm laughing, but it's all hockey related on NBC today.

SA

*I actually..., not it

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

Yeah, it's a ton of buildup, with very little actual racing. A lot of the appeal is the pageantry and traditions surrounding it. Also, fancy hats.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

it's kind of interesting to me to watch the owner and their family react to their horse winning or losing, because "watching my champion racehorse win the Kentucky Derby" is an emotion I can safely say I will never experience lmao.

Hallelujah, Hitch put the STL line back together!

fancy hats are only of interest to me if I'm the one wearing them, otherwise I get hat envy. :P

Twenty-oh-seven. How about just saying two thousand and seven like the rest of the world?

I can't .

Re: NHL Awards - Ted Lindsay

The only people I ever see talking about are the ones who've played with him, including Team Canada.
