Again? Had she done it before?

I'm starting to find the way half of Martin Jones' face twitches when he's stressed endearing. I wish they'd stop stressing him so much, though.

Not as adorable as your captain throwing a fit because he's been shut down this series. So much for the Ovechkin vs Crosby narrative, huh?

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
You're really reaching. Pretty sure he was "throwing a fit" because he'd just gotten slashed so badly he had to leave the bench, and his team didn't even get a power play out of it.

You guys deserve each other, honestly.

I have such affection for Martin Jones and idek why. I suspect it's the combo of that Jones/Toffoli series gigantic wrote which I love and his successful escape from the Kings but I love him and don't know why. It's confusing.

+1

Makes me embarrassed to be a fan of one of these teams.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

Same, except I blame those two Quick/Jones fics. The A/B/O one just really did it for me.

I think we just have to accept it, even if we don't understand it. Also I had not read that series so thank you for telling me it exists. Oh, and it's 30K+ words! Bless.

Well, I ship it. Go, Angry Pens Fan and Angry Caps Fan! Have all the hatesex your heart desires!

DA I was unaware of that series, too. I know what's next on my reading list...

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

Isn't he sort of well known for being kind of a dude-bro jerk outside hockey??

(I'm thinking specifically of a story about him in a bar and putting his AmEx in a girl's mouth. And if that story isn't about him I'll be sorry I thought it was. But I'm too tired to google.)

I'M SO GLAD. It's one of my favorite fics in this fandom, something about it is just really good for me.

ayrt

Finding out about Toffoli's love of cupcakes has made me really fond of him (I'm easy), and I'm also fond of Jones for reasons I'm not quite sure of, so this sounds right up my alley. I'm glad you mentioned it! :D

People on here are so sensitive. It's just a little trash talk, y'all. Not a big deal.

Re: Fandom Venting

From: (Anonymous)
I'm so bothered that this is a thing people do. Like yes kudos are life-affirming. But what is your life if you're scamming for them.

Re: Fandom Venting

From: (Anonymous)
Unless someone says they had already seen this fic dated May 1 last week, I think she probably just did it the one time, but she waited until authors were revealed before doing it. And if so, that's not scamming.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Nah, it's not reaching, it's just the typical Caps fan tactic of turning every illegal thing their players do into an occasion to mock or complain about someone else. /cue all the "lmao it's cute how you are all so obsessed with Tom Wilson!!" posts after Tom Wilson's n-th scumbag move

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Not just fans, considering the refs had to tell the Caps bench to stop whining after Wilson's headlock on Crosby, lmao.

I'm not sure what the point is of changing goalies with 3 minutes left when you're 3 goals down. Is it a punishment thing?

SA

Oh wait, the commentators just told me it's probably a confidence thing. They don't want to break Rinne, lol. Thank you, commentators, for telling me something useful.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Giving Rinne a rest or not wanting to risk injury when the game is obviously lost? Those would be my guesses, but I'm not sure.

"How does it feel to have a million dollars in your mouth?" Yep, that's him. *eyeroll*

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

From: (Anonymous)
Yeah, pages of bitchy, my-team-is-holier-than-thou comments is so much fun and totally why I'm here in the first place. Glad you're here to remind us there's a name for it.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

They did it in game 1 too I think?

I wish they'd been more proactive and pulled him after the second period, but I guess there was some hope the team would come out of the intermission actually wanting to play.
