As the nonny from last meme who thought a book by Pierre McGuire would be interesting, this is pretty cool.

I care about the pairing but I'm still only halfway through because it's been 20k of the same stuff so far.

Re: Fic Discussion

From: (Anonymous)
another na who tried to read this fic just before reveals. That's what threw me out too. Nobody is letting a guy in that kind of shape play. I can suspend my disbelief but that just hung it from the neck until dead.

Re: Worlds!

From: (Anonymous)
It doesn't matter who's the better player, the Leafs need a #1C so Matthews is going first. Laine can be the top score in Worlds and carry his team to gold, he'll still be second overall pick.

Plus, very small size. And very different players.

I'm a big fan of James Neal's eyebrows. They've been solid since he was an awkward Whaler teen.

Tbh it's a rare fanfic story that can really maintain a solid structure for longer than 20-30k. 50k is actually novel length, but a lot of people write what's really a much shorter story stretched out, without the plotting a novel needs.

Getzlaf's got nice eyebrows. Not the strongest color, but they've got a solid shape.

I've always thought Getzlaf's eyebrows would make him an excellent drag queen.

strongest since 2005? please, hop off mceichel's dicks

Re: Hockey Articles/Media

From: (Anonymous)
it's not even the strongest since 2011

Re: Hockey Articles/Media

From: (Anonymous)
strongest top 3 since 2005, I'd say.

Re: Hockey Articles/Media

From: (Anonymous)
i don't think it's even clearly better than the 2014 top three yet, particularly given that strome still hasn't played an nhl game. definitely not better than the 2013 top three. 2009 is also a very strong contender for as good or better, same for 2008 and 2006.

Okay, so all this talk had made me legitimately want to make a bracket that nonnies can vote on, if there's enough interest. If not, cool! I've very much enjoyed having my eyes opened to the wonders of some of these players' eyebrows.

A few logistics questions in case there is interest, though. We'd need nominees for each team (we've got a good start here, but I could start a separate thread to hash the rest out or even just make a poll where nonnies could nominate/vote if they want something more formal). And then after we have a nominee for each team, how would we want the brackets broken up: one huge bracket for the entire league, a bracket for each division, a bracket for each conference, or a bracket for playoffs teams and one for non-playoffs teams? Also, thoughts on seeding--just use league rank?

Re: Hockey Articles/Media

Yeah, 2006 had a fantastic top five or so. Toews, Backstrom, Kessel, EJohnson, EStaal?

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

If you want a real bracket, you need some kind of wildcard bracket to start with, or else you need to add a couple more teams (I vote NWHL and CWHL as the two new ones) in order to get 32, ie, a power of 2.

Oh, good point! I'd be fine with either a wildcard or adding a couple of NWHL/CWHL teams (maybe the Pride & Inferno since they were the cup winners?), depending on what people prefer.

I'm good with any option that allows me to vote for Hilary Knight's eyebrows. :D

I can only support this, as her eyebrows are great. And it looks like the Inferno have some good candidates, too. :D

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

I'd say a separate thread with eyebrows in the title so that people can block it or ignore it easily if they don't want to take part.

Re: Game Day Thread May 7, 2016

Nonnie who first suggested it
Yes, I think a separate thread. I vote nominations be done in that thread just by having people list the team name and nominee with one subthread per team (without changing the subject line, unless the demand gets too great, which I don't think it will). So, I go:

Capitals - Tom Wilson

And if no one responds, he's the nom. If someone +1s, he's the nom. If someone disagrees, by going:

Capitals - TJ Oshie

Then it's just number of votes and the tiebreaker is, IDK, a coin flip or something.

I do think 32 teams makes sense. No idea about seeding.

sounds like a plan!

ayrt- lol, yeah. I think he's got nice big eyes, too.

Sounds good! I'll move things over to another thread so uninterested nonnies can more easily block/ignore.
