Re: World Cup of Hockey

AYRT

Yes! Our PK was excellent this year and I especially loved those two and their propensity for breakaways on top of their defensive play. I don't get off work until after a lot of games start, so I listened to a lot of first periods on the way home this year, which is how I caught Otter when he was on the radio broadcast. I can't remember which games, though--it was some point, possibly after the ASG, when Kelly Chase was out of town. I do know I enjoyed him a lot more than Chase, haha. I think it was also around the same time they had him up in the booth with JK during the TV broadcast/when he was doing all the Zero to Sixties? I'll look around and see if I can get a better idea if you don't manage to find them.

I hope you're right, even if I dread them giving him a terrible contract. It does seem like term really was a sticking point with the previous offer, so hopefully they can work something out that won't be too painful a few years down the road.

His chip commercial and his dry sense of humor are sources of immense joy for me, haha. I agree that that's probably the source of a lot of the flak. He was also a bit up and down this season, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up having a much better season next year. I totally agree that they'll probably be shopping for a 1C this off-season, with Jori and Stas being 2C/3C next season. My guess is that they might try to go for one of the Edmonton guys using Shatty as a trading piece. If they don't try to trade up for Edmonton's first round pick, which I think is also a distinct possibility. I'd be kind of excited to see them transition Robby back to C at some point, but he's been so great on the wing, too. I need to work on the whole not letting myself get too attached to everyone thing, as it is a source of constant pain, haha.
