I'm pretty uneducated about produce, but I don't see how anyone who's even seen an eggplant emoji and has a vague idea of what a plum is could confuse the two.

I've seen the eggplant emoji, but I have literally no idea what a plum looks like. It didn't occur to me that that was information I was lacking until now, and I kind of want to keep the mystery alive.

It's a stone fruit. It looks like a purple stone fruit. (Other stone fruit: peaches, nectarines, apricots.)

Damson plums actually do kinda look like little eggplants, now that I think about it, and there are some little eggplants that look kinda like plums with little green caps:

I'm sorry I maligned you, Johnny Gaudreau.

Nope. Not seeing it. It's like mistaking actual eggs for white eggplant. Only under the light of the moon and squinting can I understand.

I mean, if you've never seen either of those things before.... they are both fruits and a lot of people don't know what plums actually look like. It's not like someone familiar with them would ever confuse them. An egg is not a fruit, it's not quite the same.

But if you watch the video, the eggplant he mistook for a plum was a variety that is large and thick. (That sounds so dirty.)
