They do seem to be a little unstructured, but they do have the speed. Gonna be interesting to see how they do against a different defence.

Yeah, I'm just sad to watch him slowly fall apart as Claude keeps playing him on the top pairing despite the stable of younger guys we have that could get moved up.

I wish Patrick O'Sullivan weren't such a real POS because he's a rare hockey player with a lot of good insight and well-directed conviction that he's willing to share and discuss openly and publicly with fans.

I'm so torn. Because his story of abuse is really horrible. But he seems to not really be using his platform for that much good.

They might gain some structure as they keep going. I think they have a good chance of making it out of their group, tbh.

He's such a great strawman for the analytics community, though.

These Hull/Chelios interludes are not my favorite.

But damn Olli Maatta leading the rush in OT is a sweet highlight.

Yeah, it's frustrating, because he does use the platform for good, when the good is his cause (which is a great one and the way he's spoken up is amazing!). But he is so terrible about experiences that aren't his. It's not even a "can't deal with my fav being problematic thing," it's literally impossible for me to not want to pitch his twitter account out a window. He's not just Ideologically Bad, he's petulant, abrasive, and combative.

I singled out the one comment that compared him to Claude, because that is the thing that I was discussing. As opposed to Sid/Nate in general. I've been very clear about that. It's not me that's having trouble following the thrust. And I only singled out that comment, because you claimed you'd made a relevant comment elsewhere already. Since that was the only relevant comment, I assumed it must be yours.

And I'm not making personal attacks because you disagreed with me. One, asking your opinion on Claude in comparison to Nate isn't a personal attack, and two, you've already admitted you were only disagreeing with me because you thought I made a different comment that someone else had made.

People have explained ad nauseum why they aren't into MacKinnon too, but people keep saying it must be more than that.

I have been so la la la, I don't care about the World Cup, and then Olli scores the OT winner and I am all heart eyes. I'm weak, okay. And people who watched the game said he looked really good, no trouble skating like he had sometimes in the playoffs, so I'm really excited to see what he can do this season.

I literally only care about Johnny Gaudreau.

I hope so, as they get more time in practice. It'll take them a bit to get used to. It's a tough group though.

It's not a comment on his morality or personality. He's one of the greatest American players currently in the game, thus "the great American Patrick Kane."

No one's wondering why more people aren't into MacKinnon. People are wondering why S/G fans hate him and Sid/Nate. A small handful of people disliking the Gallys pairing (compared to how many people ship it) is unsurprising considering Gallagher is a pest on-ice and has had "problematic" things off-ice pointed out by fandom.

Small American players who skate fast and score goals are probably going to be compared to him until the nuclear apocalypse happens, tbh.

Just tuned in and saw Europe is down by three. Are they getting smoked or is it closer than the score would appear?

They're getting smoked.

4-0 now.

It's not very close, the NA offense is way too fast for Europe to keep up and they're getting a ton of offensive zone time.

DA I think there are S/G fans who hate Sid/Claude. And there are certainly hateboner anons who show up when certain people post Sid/Claude.

I think sometimes it seems like there is more hate for Nate/Sid because they interact more so there are more opportunities for it to be expressed, and the Oflights fic was posted more recently so it's fresher in peoples memories.

I love both Sid/Claude and Sid/Nate but I get some people don't, which is fine, and then there are some people who act very entitled about authors writing different pairings. It's just not worth dwelling on.

Oh my god, that was such an amazing display of childish mudslinging on both sides.

I don't know how much more clearly I'm supposed to spell it out for you that you asked for the difference between Sid/Nate and Sid/Claude and my answer was, all the things pointed out about Sid/Nate upthread (which obviously don't apply to Claude at all). I don't see how you could have missed that unless you didn't follow the conversation that happened before you joined in and missed the reason Claude was mentioned in the first place (to question the idea that people always hate the OTP being broken up even by a not-BNF). You can't blame me for mistakenly thinking you were responding to my argument when you replied to my comment, which is what I admitted to, not that I'm out to get you with disagreement because I hated not-your comment. You started the snide remarks and the "or did you only commented to tell me I was wrong??" Short of copying and pasting the link to every comment I've made in this thread, I don't know what else you want me to do here to make this any more clear, so I won't. If you really want an answer to your question, you can reread the thread.
