I didn't play last year, but if there's room in any of the leagues I'm definitely in!

I didn't play last year, bit it seemed like a lot of fun, so I'd like to try this year! ... Although I'll be very bad at it probably lol.

Thank you for the feedback! I just re-read all the primers and refreshed my own memory about the drama of draft ordering. ;)

I'd love to play again. I'm totally fine with renewing our leagues and doing a new draft - that was half the fun.

We would be delighted to have you! As I said, even if everyone who played last year were to return (which I am pretty sure isn't happening), we'd still have room for 8 new players.

I'll let meme know once I get back into the Commish e-mail. You can then e-mail me (from any e-mail address, it can be a sock, and you can sign up with any other e-mail you wish--there are options to keep your e-mail invisible in the game environment) and I'll send you a link to join one of the leagues.

A reminder to all potential new participants: people had some issues with yahoo's sign-up requirements last year, so if you don't already have a yahoo account, you might want to try setting one up and see if it's something you're willing to deal with.

We had some discussion last year about trying to use ESPN or CBS this season, but I really don't have time to learn their whole system this season. If someone prefers to try to investigate that, please feel free, but I can pretty much only commit to doing Yahoo.

Do not worry that you have no experience. I think some of the Champs last year had never played before! Do read the primers, as I think they are helpful (if I do say so myself ;) ) to understand how it all works. And feel free to ask questions!

Eh, even if you take ship + character tagging into account, the only other guy even close to being over 1000 is Jamie Benn, and nobody's nominated him this year, anyway. Below that, Patrick Sharp is at just over 700 - and Ovechkin and Giroux are hanging out between 500 and 600. So the numbers may be low, but nobody's slipping in who should be ruled out.

Tentacle fic - Do you like lots of tentacles or just one? With or without Ovipoisition? Anything you would like to read which hasn't been done yet?

Yes, if it's a longer fic there needs to be something more to go with the fluff.

Oviposition is my favorite thing about tentacles, for sure. However, they can also be fun for setting up particular emotional scenarios, like xeno/exploration of unexpected anatomy, shame/comfort ("I know they're super weird, right?" / "Are you kidding, I love them"), that kind of thing.

I know Seguin's past history with leaving Boston under less favorable terms, and the steers tweet. However, I thought things were quite for him? And that rpf wise especially he was narratively becoming a better bro? Soft bro? I'm unfamiliar with the correct bro term.

Is there something more recent? I read a lot of anon meme and suddenly Seguin is coming up as the next Kane. Is there a story I missed somewhere about new events?

Not trying to be critical if people don't like a player, just surprised it seems to be picking up without any new incidents (that I'm aware of).

Another +1 for renewing the league's but redoing the draft! I loved doing this last year and am looking forward to doing it again!

i love any and all tentacle fic, but especially the dubcon kind, where the character is reluctantly into it (with or without Special Fluids). i also love: really big tentacles or many little ones (so stretching, basically), and tentacles fucking the character's mouth and manhandling them.

i can take or leave oviposition tbh, it's not what i'm after in tentacle fic, but it can definitely be hot.

and something i want but haven't read yet is this thing i read on imogenedisease's tumblr this morning: "tentacle porn gang!bang? As in, the way that the Sens come down after a game is for Sven to get fucked, while his tentacles do some fucking of their own." it sounds like a nightmare to write, but the visual is A+.

I like it best when it's the "creepy monster from the depths" type, not so much the "human with normal human motivations has tentacles." It's important to me that there's an element of horror and a sense of sinister purpose. For that reason, the Landeskog tentacle fill on the kink meme was so damn good to me. A literal creepy monster from the depths! So great.

Quick is not a hot mess in goal the way he was in the playoffs and at the end of the season, and that the coaching staff decides against playing him 65+ games in the regular season

That means you've got Zatkoff playing 17+ games in the regular season, and I'm not sure that's something you want, either.

What other anon meme is talking about Seguin?

I'm not a Dallas nor Boston nonnie, so I can't say definitively, but I am pretty confident that he hasn't changed much since leaving Boston. The only life lesson we know he's finally learned is to be more selective about what he puts on twitter. Dallas a much larger city that proportionally cares less about hockey (based on TV ratings, which is might be a shaky metric), so his shit is less out in the open. IMO, saying he's a Kane-level menace to society is probably in reaction to the equally extreme idea that he's actually a soft closeted fem!gay. Not to undermine the nonnies in the thread I'm assuming you read, I believe their stories, but I also like to pretend there's a difference between your average Nice Guy who get annoying after they get turned down and predatory rapists.

"rpf wise narratively a better soft bro" is definitely one of the most eye-rolling ways I've ever heard anyone try to make Seguin sound palatable, and it's shit like this from his fans (not any new off ice incidents that anyone's aware of) that's leading to the uptick of negative talk about him on meme. Just because someone doesn't think your boy is good-looking or thinks his fans are annoying doesn't mean he's coming up as the next Kane, ffs. And I don't think "leaving Boston under less favorable terms" is high on anyone's list of why they dislike him, not when there are so very many other reasons to choose from.

I like tentacles of all sorts, with and without oviposition! When more than one human is involved (i.e. it's not a tentacle monster) I like seeing navigation of the inherent foreign-ness of the situation and the trust/emotional aspect of it as well.

Uh, well, someone did actually, literally say they'd put money on him being the next NHL player accused of sexual assault. I believe Hall was the other contender.

Not my team but the Pacioretty vs Therrien stuff creeping up is kind of solidifying in my mind the real truth about Subban vs Pacioretty rumors: that the narrative was mostly planted by team management to get rid of both of them without making the Habs look bad.
