This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

I'm almost more annoyed by all the people being, "Oh, Kanes," and joking about what scumbags they are. The conspiracy theorists didn't have much of any support (when I was briefly on a few hours ago), but the jokes are getting all the sweet, sweet internet points. Like they more or less believe the accusations but don't take them seriously. I don't think prolonged community-wide heartbreak is necessary, but... jesus.

Yeah, most people take sensible opinions but I have very definitely seen posts that specify ALL non-familial interaction is verboten. A bunch of people had reblogged it making fun, and someone had then reblogged it saying DON'T YOU REALISE YOU'RE DEFENDING ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS.

Extremists are usually the ones being made fun of.

IIRC Canes and Sens have one too but they don't list the actual dollar amounts so it just tells you how long someone is signed.

It's nice though, maybe one day the NHL will just put everything up on its site for every team.

Just double checking: is it true that Brayden Schenn lived in an apartment with his brother Luke last season until he got traded? Is he living alone now (or did he after January at least)?

I find that so annoying because I know it means next time something like this happens (god forbid) all the comments will be about "are you sure his last name isn't kane lololo" "did this happen in buffalo????" etc. but that's just my pet peeves surrounding bad jokes about a serious situation.

I wonder if any conservative Penguins find it weird to play for hugely influential Dems like Burkle and Morehouse. Especially Morehouse, who was literally in politics.

Honestly, just my opinion, but I think it probably wouldn't even occur to most hockey players to feel weird about it, unless (maybe not even) they were really hardcore ideologues. The sense I get from hockey players is that even many of the ones with strong conservative convictions aren't all that politically aware, and that most feel that politics and hockey are separate. Also, iirc, Mario Lemieux is a registered Republican (although at some point he did donate money to HRC), and much more a face of the organization/present in their day-to-day than Burkle or Morehouse afaik.

If I had a dollar for every time a self-proclaimed hockey guru on Tumblr displayed exactly three years of hockey knowledge, I'd have enough money physically fly out to wherever they may be and fight them over my team's honor.

I actually thought it was pretty cute, though I did roll my eyes at that line. I didn't really feel like I was reading hockey rpf, more that I was just reading an Animorphs novel, but I enjoyed it and thought she caught KA Applegate's style very well.
