Is her Eichel characterization like it's been in her other fics? Or worth reading?

Thanks. I guess I was looking for someone who did understand my plight. You're right, of course. There's no way around it. I agreed to the exchange after all. So I've got to do what I promised I would.

Sympathy not your strong suit, huh? That's okay. I know my beta is correct. But I still feel bothered by it.

Eichel is a bird for the entire fic. It limits his role in it, I wouldn't read it if you are looking for stuff about Eichel.

I would be bothered too.

Try not to think about it and just write something you aren't embarrassed to put your name on. Just think about the other team instead.

Or default. It's an option if you really can't make yourself write for them.

This comment is amazing without context. (I parented up and it made sense)

Another article I read said that Subban and Phaneuf were the only active players to attend, which makes me a little sad regarding Bozak. But I did like that apparently there's an opening for an AU where Phil falls in love with a hospitality services employee (insert player of your choice).

This is an amazing comment, thank you.

Have you ever been disappointed with a story so much you're willing to give up your first born child to make it better? TBH this one was tropey Sid/Geno and unrealistic but sometimes I don't mind that when it's well written, and I actually that the things they all did wrong came back to haunt them but it's just so badly written it makes me mad lol :(

Clunky dialogue, no firm grasp of characters, Geno worrying that his daughters might be sold off as sex slaves, THAT CRINGE SCENE IN THE END, etc. I'm so annoyed.

I couldn't even make my way all the way through. The PREMISE was good. The application...Not so much.

Tbh I could sit through clunky dialogue and a shaky grasp of characterization if there was a good iddy payoff, but even that wasn't there! Instead there was the long, terrible slog of all the kids' issues, yawn. 0/10, would not recommend.

I have plenty of sympathy when it's warranted. I just think it's naive of you to expect that your recipient will live up to your expectations of them, fandom is diverse and people will ship what they ship, whether that is something you like or not.

lmao @you acting like supporting kane and kane-like creatures is on the same level as some petty fandom grievance.

Is it really so naive when it's a team-specific exchange that prohibits the mention of Kane? But I see where you're coming from even though I feel your expression is poor.

I just don't think it's realistic to project your own thinking onto someone else (someone you don't know) and then be disappointed when they don't live up to them.

Did they state that Kane supporters aren't allowed in the exchange?

Morals. The word you're looking for is morals. The world kinda revolves around expecting people to live up them and being disappointed when they don't.

I guess I just don't have high expectations of some exchange participant, who is a total stranger to me, ymmv.

Re: Writing Thread

I'm thinking about writing a continuation-ish version of the Larkin/Werenski dream-walking story from the other (Zach's) perspective.

Has anyone ever done something this?? Did you write it and then ask or ask and then write it?? I'm super nervous about asking the author if they mind and I keep backtracking and thinking maybe I'll just write it and keep it to myself (rejection, it scares me.)

The author's Strome/Tavares fic had a couple of sequels/spin-offs, if that helps any. I don't know if or how they went about asking the author about it, or how the author felt about them, but I guess they establish a precedent?

Still laughing about this tbh.
