I read more of that Curbed blog since apparently athlete's enormous houses are porn for me. And apparently Seabrook also owns 2 other houses in Chicago. So he's probably just unloading some inventory.

1) How’d you get into Hockey RPF? You'd think it was CP!, but nope, you'd be wrong. As with most of my fandoms, it was the fanfiction. I read a couple of highly recommended non-hockey AUs (I'd seen several of my faves talking about them), which expanded my horizons enough that I could be enticed into anything tagged identity porn within the fandom. And when I finished the last of those, I was in the fandom.

2) How’d you get into hockey? ... I love physics? Well, no, I absorbed the offsides rule thanks to another fandom (don't ask) and I have been conditioned since middle school to enjoy watching any kind of sport, pretty much regardless of who's playing. Hockey has more speed and more physics than American football, and apparently, that's all I ever wanted from a sport.

3) How long have you been coming to meme/how did you find it? someone asked if I was the anon from the meme, and I had no idea what they were talking about -- naturally, I had to find out.

4) Current Fave Team? Capitals! We visit family in DC pretty often, but otherwise I've never in my life been in a city with a hockey team, so that's the natural choice, really.

5) Backup Fave Team? If the Caps aren't playing, I'll watch any women's hockey game, tbh.

6) Anything else you want to add? Everyone I know IRL seems to think "Can and will complain about Kris Letang the entire sixty minutes" means that I'm a Pens fan??? Which. No. Just no.

I'm jealous! the structure of the leagues/learn to skate system in my location basically means you have to do ~2 years of skating lessons before you can actually play any games.

1) How’d you get into Hockey RPF?

I was into baseball RPF when it was a Big Thing and decided to one day see if there was any hockey RPF as well. Something like eight or nine years later, my dumb ass is still here.

2) How’d you get into hockey?

I don't know. I've been a hockey fan as long as I can remember.

3) How long have you been coming to meme/how did you find it?

So long...it's been eighty-four years... (Actually, in all honesty, since the first post -- I found old meme right around the time it got locked down. I've seen and/or participated in basically every wank this meme has had. I've even unintentionally started one!)

4) Current Fave Team?

Stars. I'm from Texas.

5) Backup Fave Team?

I honestly do not have one.

6) Anything else you want to add?

Fandom has been so dead lately it has me poking at the half-finished fics in my documents folder in hopes of possibly being able to finish something. Seems like a weird reaction, but here we are.

Good luck with your half-finished fic! Maybe I should do the same. I can't believe how slow fandom has been. I heard part of a Vincent Trochek interview on the radio yesterday, where all I heard was him getting asked about Spacey in Space and he reiterated that he doesn't think any member of the team now or in the future (including traded ones like Gudbranson) will ever reveal the meaning behind it, and I wondered if that was meme-post worthy, just so there'd be something to talk about.

Wow, that sucks!

I'm in southern California, and the Ducks own/run 6 rinks in the OC area (3 ice, 3 inline). They're really trying to grow hockey in the area, so they have a bunch of learn-to-play clinics for kids and adults, as well as lessons and leagues for every level. I'm really lucky to live by such a great program. Hopefully other hockey teams will start to focus on adults as well. The best way to grow your fanbase is to get as many people involved in the sport as possible!

Is the Robbie story actually going to move forward, ever?

The last two updates...I've felt like I've wasted my time when I've finished them. They've been pointless.

I am so over the author's Microaggressions by Robbie, since nothing he's said has been that horrible (or valid, in one instance) and there is literally no way in hell anyone he's around would call him out on it. I know not many people would be interested in reading the sort of hard misogyny/bigotry that athletes participate in, but like... she is just so out of her league trying to make any of this sound believable.

Plus why is it Robbie she calls out, and not... many of her other characters? Agreed that he's not that bad, and it feels very forced. David's probably worse, and Mike.

Because Dacid's just troubled and Robbie's a whipping boy, possibly in an effort to justify him inevitably getting cheated on?
