Optimistically, other teams in the KHL seem to manage transport and so on with average gates that're similar to some of the larger EIHL clubs, so supporting a team on a typical UK fanbase ought to be possible, especially if you bring in management used to thinking on that kind of scale.
The problem then is building that supporter base from a standing start, which... I don't know? Looking at other teams that've been brought into the KHL they seem to be clubs that already existed, which might be an easier way to go - if one of the EIHL clubs could be be persuaded to switch to a much bigger pond? Still wouldn't solve the skill disparity between the leagues though, especially if the KHL keep to the same rules on the numbers of a team's native/non-native players.
