My parents' old house has all the downstairs rooms painted lime green. Like mint ice cream. They were renting but got so fed up they asked the landlord if they could repaint, taking all the cost themselves. Landlord said fine as long as it was a neutral colour.

Anything was more neutral than that shade of green.
