Giroud is a true Frenchman but in this fic he's basically 100℅ a North American bro in his dialogue. He's so OOC that he's just a badly written OC here (utterly generic, no personality, merely a plot device).
And I second what the other posters are saying about messy logic/plot holes.
I will credit the fic for having good SPAG, so at least there's that.
