Sigh... that makes me so sad. McDavid/Strome is just so boring to me and I can't explain why. The only one I've remotely enjoyed so far was the "McDavid is a prince and Stromer is his uni roommate" one.
Marner/Strome hits alllllllllllll of my buttons and so does McEichel, if only to a slightly lesser extent. Rivals to begrudging friends to lovers is my one true trope. With the bonus childhood connection angle to Stome/Marner I was sold immediately. Maybe a long shot, but I'm hoping if they're both up and the Yotes and Leafs miss the playoffs which is likely, they both go play at Worlds and we get more fic.
For McEichel I'm casually optimistic that the World Cup will bring more fic, but I'm also not getting my hopes too high.
