ayrt I was using "the guy" the way the article did- as in the guy in charge, the go-to player etc. By making him the captain and giving him the most TOI McLellan was trying to give him the confidence he apparently gets from "knowing he's the guy", but he still didn't do well. I don't disagree with you, lol,but the coaching staff clearly did.
