1-4 September it's the Olympic qualification tournaments in Minsk, Riga and Oslo.

One of Belarus,Slovenia,Denmark and Poland will qualify. Match times http://www.iihf.com/competition/574/schedule/
One of Latvia, Germany, Austria and Japan will qualify. Match times http://www.iihf.com/competition/575/schedule/
One of Norway,France, Kazakhstan and Italy will qualify. Match times http://www.iihf.com/competition/576/schedule/

Hopefully, they will show the games somewhere.

For anyone who's in Germany (so one fellow nonnie? lol) or anyone with German tv, Sport1 is showing Germany's games (maybe some others on their pay TV channels?) live!

I'm so excited, fingers crossed! I'm sad Greiss isn't starting though. :(

The DK team looks pretty strong. Andersen and Dahm in goal, all of the big NHL names apart from Eller. I would be so happy if we could do this.

I just read that Mads Bødker retired, though, so that's a blow to our dreams of producing a team with the least possible name variation.

I would pay good money to go to a game where the least possible name variation occurs.

I would maybe sell my soul for Norway to win. Maybe.

Thanks for the reminder! Seems a bit early to have the qualification tournament in 2016 for the 2018 Olympics...

In a sense it's late. Most teams have already qualified. These are just those fighting over the last few spots/not to be relegated.

One of the guys on my team is playing in this and also the World Cup for Team Europe, and I am so worried as to what that is going to do to his season. It seems like an awful lot of hockey before the season even starts.

DA Could also be Kopitar, Zuccarello, Boedkar, Bellemare, and I think more Danes and Germans but I am too lazy to cross reference the rosters.

Ouch, poor Austria... 1-8 seems a bit harsh.

The Norway game right now, oh my god. I had already written this off, because they were down 1-3 and then they make it 2-3 less than 2 minutes before the end, and now 3-3 with about 14 seconds to play!!

Aww, they lost. But I'm still so happy lol!

Def better than I was expecting half way through the third. And you can never tell what will happen in the other games. Especially if the Kazakhstan goalie is out for more than one game.

All of the evening games on Sunday are winner takes the qualification slot.
Belarus/Slovenia, Latvia/Germany and Norway/France.

Hopefully, this will lead to some enjoyable games.

I was so pessimistic about Norway in the beginning, but now I feel like they might have a shot? Sorry, France!

Good luck! They seemed much better against Italy, but it was a hell of a come back against Kazakhstan so hopefully they keep it going.

Dansk nonny is now living vicariously through you, but I feel like I should probably not watch since that never seems to end well for the team I'm rooting for, haha.

Germany-Latvia has been pretty fun so far. Also, there's a player called Kink.

Should be a good third too, with there only being one goal in it now.
