I'm really, really liking the space between blue lines by loganes. It's the OMC/OMC WIP that's not by imogenedisease/ycmal. Hopefully not jinxing it but it's providing a lot more of what I wanted out of OMC hockey fic (or even hockey fic in general tbh) than the ycmal fics.

I really like this too. I wasn't expecting the last part to happen as quickly as it did (if you catch my drift) but I might just be assuming that everybody advances their plot at the glacial pace of imogenedisease when it comes to omc fic. I'm super curious to see what happens next. I think the character development has been great without being too cliched or tropey.

Yeah, it was a total surprise for me too. Even after Dylan saw McNamara I didn't expect them to get on the same page so fast. I was thinking there'd be misunderstandings, drama, silent treatment etc. And I was so glad to be wrong. It's going to be so interesting to see where loganes goes with it from here.

But agreed again, character development and voice especially imo have been great. And neither of the main characters are tropey archetypes which is such a treat.

For some reason I was really expecting Dylan to be the one whose sexuality was ~accidentally revealed to McNamara, not the other way around! I loved the whole installment, but none of it went as I kind of expected. Which is actually great, it's just another way the fic is so refreshing. I'm dying to get more insight into what Ryan thinks/feels other than drunken confessions about secret resentments, but I assume that will come as they get to know each other better ;)

pretty much + 1 to everything, including liking their character development and being surprised by the leveling up happening this soon.

i've actually been enjoying mind_tent's "superstition" series (oc rookies get drunk-married in vegas and stay married), but i strongly suspect the narrator is an acquired taste because he reminds me some of marc in ycmal so this is DEFINITELY a ymmv rec. there are some hilarious moments (elvis has to turn their snap-backs around for their wedding kiss, that was priceless).

Wow, thanks, I totally had been ignoring that because of the OMC tags and really enjoyed it when I just read through it. I want to know what happens next!

Oooh, thanks for the rec. I tend to steer clear of omc/omc but I will generally read a rec!
