This was in exactly one fic, posted today. How is this is a recent big thing?

Your hatereading thing is so delusional.

Huh? It's a whole series, with 2000 total kudos, 120k words, and multiple additions that have been showing up at the top of the tag since June. Sid's Ass and The Hockey Daughters are completely separate fics. If you're going to sass me, try to be accurate.

I read "big thing" as "trend," not "series of fics." If you don't want people to sass you, communicate more clearly.

I know meme doesn't like to take responsibility for misreading, but come on. Calling a long, popular, frequently updated series a "big thing" isn't a stretch.

If you add some context, then sure. Which was all that was needed here.

... not really.

OP here!

It seems like to me there should be enough context in there that I'm talking about a series, since I mention other fics, for someone to not jump to the "bad-faith" reading that I like being fake-persecuted and complaining about a trend which is not a trend, and is in fact only one fic.

However, I freely admit the sentence is ambiguous. I didn't realize until right after I posted my minor confusion about being sassed. I didn't post anything about it at the time because I don't like to double post when meme is so slow.

Everything is my fault. Sorry. Can we complain about the series together now?

I stopped reading after the first one. I've seen the other parts pop up and noped at each of them. The summary of the one about Sid's ass seemed really unappealing.

NA Because nobody in this thread has dropped any titles or links, I have no idea what series or other fics are being talked about. I've been too busy drinking to go poking around AO3 or tumblr or wherever. But I'm sure they're very annoying.

I reread the first one recently, and liked it better than I remembered, but still felt really bait-and-switched with how a fic that started with Geno in a bond crisis ended up being entirely about Sid.

I've liked the timestamps better, though, for the most part.

I don't have a horse in this race, but I parsed "big thing" as "trend" as well. I probably would in most situations; that's just what it most commonly means, at least as I'm familiar with it.
