I wish there was more fic with Alex Galchenyuk. I can't stand Brendan Gallagher and wish Galchenyuk gets pair with someone else. He deserve better.

I went and read all the non-Gallagher fic about Galchenyuk that I could find. It did not take me very long. :(

Are there even really any? I know there's a few with Prust which is arguably not any better. 7iris wrote a couple of tumblr fics with him and Carey Price which were good PWP but yeah I think that's it?

I was hoping he would be at the World Cup for hockey reasons, but also so there would be better people to ship him with.

I was also hoping he'd be healthy in time to go to Worlds, because that always provides fun options.

nayrt I still can't believe they choose JT Miller over Jenner/Galchenyuk what were they thinking?

I don't know about Galchenyuk (Bergevin not optimizing him may have played a part) but Miller scored 22 goals while not on the Rangers' first line, was a positive Corsi rel player the past season (unlike Jenner), and is a winger full-time, which I suspect is the most important, considering the number of centers already on the roster. It means they're not converting yet another player to wing.

Furthermore, he won gold on the 2013 WJC team with several other members of Team NA, which could have been a consideration as well. Though obviously so was Galchenyuk.
