It's not that dynamic, but I did enjoy disarm_d's Crosby/Seguin/Toews story that was posted in the last week http://archiveofourown.org/works/7956748

(I think I would have enjoyed it even more if it was Crosby/Seguin/Weber, but that's not something wrong with the story, just that Crosby/Weber is a Team Canada hookup that intrigues me).

whoa, since when does disarm_d write hockey fic?

Inorite? That's a name I did not expect to hear :O It looks like this is her first fic but she's been reblogging hockey stuff for a while.

ayrt

she wrote one of my favorite fics of all time in another fandom, so this is kind of exciting for me.

I liked her bandom fic and will probably read her hockey fic, out of boredom if for no other reason, but a quick glance at the fic and her tumblr turned up so many of my pet peeves that I'm too irritated to be enthusiastic.

There was a lot that was pretty irritating I just wanted some porn but there was too much weirdness in the way.

There was food stuff which is always annoying, there was much hockey botting.

And why wouldn't Tyler have just sucked Sid's dick in Prague if he wanted to https://twitter.com/carsonsanders1/status/600112178465611776

They also link to their primer which says Tyler won the Stanley cup with the Bruins and was immediately traded Dallas.

I never understand how new people come in and immediately do the hockeybot thing. Is it a rite of passage? Are they still reading TFV's trash primer? Do they backread AO3 starting from 2012 then give up halfway through?

I guess because she's from bandom, maybe she just read imp's fic and called it a day on characterization.

Maybe they're just sorting by kudos.

That's likely it. I know that whenever I start reading fic in a new fandom, that's what I do.

I just didn't like the character dynamic, although that's probably a kink mismatch more than anything. Toews was such a total dick.

Yeah, I didn't read it for a few reasons, but it was 50% annoyance that the cash grab tournament warranted "initiation" as a plot when the WC didn't. Though, mostly, that just made me even angrier at fictional Jonathan toews than I usually am.

Ah, yes, she who turned me away from an entire trope (subversion). It took me a second to place why that name left a slightly bad taste in my mouth.

Subversion is not a trope, unless this is some kink I'm not aware of.

I think they mean they turned that nonny off of a common trope subversion.
