"rpf wise narratively a better soft bro" is definitely one of the most eye-rolling ways I've ever heard anyone try to make Seguin sound palatable, and it's shit like this from his fans (not any new off ice incidents that anyone's aware of) that's leading to the uptick of negative talk about him on meme. Just because someone doesn't think your boy is good-looking or thinks his fans are annoying doesn't mean he's coming up as the next Kane, ffs. And I don't think "leaving Boston under less favorable terms" is high on anyone's list of why they dislike him, not when there are so very many other reasons to choose from.

Uh, well, someone did actually, literally say they'd put money on him being the next NHL player accused of sexual assault. I believe Hall was the other contender.

One person thinking Seguin is/could be as bad as Kane =/= fandom or meme giving him the Kane treatment. Meme and fandom aren't even close to treating Seguin like Kane.

I don't think the OP was talking about a "Kane treatment" or meme treating him a certain way. They said they were backreading. There was an actual conversation about who would be the next Kane recently with multiple people participating. OP asked if that was based on a new scandal, since they hadn't heard anything. You are acting more persecuted than the OP.

Where on earth did they say they were backreading? They said they "read a lot of anon meme" and that "it seems to be picking up." If the Kane mention is referring to that one specific conversation that happened... not all that recently iirc?, then I misunderstood the comment, but if they're asking for an explanation of one specific person's opinion that Seguin is actually most likely to be the next Kane, not a trend of meme being down on him... it's not rocket science to figure out why someone might think that of him, even without any new scandals.

And no, disagreeing with someone and being annoyed by them, even if it's with undue tetchiness, isn't "acting persecuted," lol.

That's how it looks when you crank up the aggression to 100 right off the bat, lol. And, hey, some people manage to answer questions and misunderstandings about actual rocket science without the undue "tetchiness."

Then you don't clearly don't understand what the word "persecuted," means if you think all expressions of hostility = acting like you're being persecuted.

And that's because questions about actual rocket science are cool and interesting, unlike questions assuming that something ~new must have happened to make something dislike your "narratively better soft bro," when said bro has already given everyone plenty of reason to dislike him.

Na

Context: the last time I saw this opinion was on _coal. I THINK they meant they read many anon memes, including coal.

_coal is such a terrible measure of anything, though, especially in the wanky period before assignments go out. I went and looked up that thread, and that comment does not read like someone I feel the need to take seriously.

Yes, hockey players are interchangeable, therefore I can just move from one to the next without losing anything.

Wow, that person is hostile toward Tyler Seguin. Also, I disagree with the undertagging nonsense in that thread. Just because someone is in a relationship in a fic (or tagged as being in a relationship in a fic) does not make them a main character in the fic.

OP here. Sorry for any confusion. Yes, I read multiple anon meme's. It was on _coal which is partially my fault because they are very wanky. I think there was something slightly less aggressive on FFA also which is why I asked because it seemed like his name was coming up more in a negative context than what I had observed in the past.

I'm not saying anyone should or has to like Tyler Seguin. Thank you for answering my question.
