I'm 99.9% sure she's not. And I agree that anytime she's written about Judaism it's felt off.

It was also mentioned that out of the characters who were raised religious, the Jewish one (Gabe? Stephen? I never remember which is which) was explicitly stated to be atheist but "culturally Jewish". And that's totally legitimate and I know a lot of people who are, but with her uh, spotty, track record of writing characters whose backgrounds aren't exactly like her own, it kind of irked me, which it shouldn't but...
