Did you watch the game today? Even if Krug and Carlo are healthy (doubtful) they're gonna get destroyed. And they still haven't figured out how to play against Ottawa's trap either, so I'm predicting a first round exit either way. Everybody's saying they're a dark horse pick because of underlying numbers but the depth just isn't there, especially on defense.

I think they dealt with the trap decently on Thursday against Ottawa. They were way better about getting through the neutral zone and into Ottawa's zone than the previous game. Plus on principle any team playing the trap should just not be allowed to make it very far. I despise this Senators' team's brand of hockey.

God, it's so mind-numbingly boring to watch. You're right, but it's a little disconcerting that it was pretty much a must-win game against an injured Ottawa roster and they couldn't figure out how to win. I have some hope they'd be able to make it work over a 7 game series, but my playoff buzz is a little dimmed considering the prospect of either a boring Ottawa series or a Caps series that they'll probably lose in 5 games, ngl.
