Too early but I wonder what would happen if the Caps lose the series?

People will make jokes, and they'll miss their window and won't get a cup in the near future.

Would they trade their core? I mean Ovechkin/Backstrom/Burakovsky... This is supposedly the best Caps team. Will a first round exist change the make-up of the team?

They'll never trade Ovi, imo. The whole reason for this exercise is to try and get Ovi a cup.

They would be foolish to, imo. A first round exit doesn't change the fact of how good the team is. If they lose, it'll be because they were unlucky, not because the team has some deep flaw that needs to be fixed. They can strengthen or retool around the core much more easily than they can find viable, affordable replacements for core players.

I shit you guys not, I had a feeling deep down that Wilson would score the GWG. I don't know how or why, but from the moment OT started I fucking knew it.

Any further predictions then? What about game two? :D

I knew it would be the fourth line, but I had Winnick pegged for the winner.

Rolling my eyes at people calling Subban selfish for shooting for the empty net when he's scored from that far before and literally right before that Jarnkrok overpassed instead of shooting and allowed Chicago to get another rush.

Man, that's dumb. I appreciate that my team are all actively encouraged to shoot for empty nets.

da. It's so bizarre that anyone would have problems with players making the empty net shots, unless of course the player in question is (a) stealing the hattrick opportunity from somebody with 2 goals, or (b) is not very accurate and any attempted shot he makes is a guaranteed icing for the opponent.

I'm cheering for the Flames. It feels weird.

Do you normally cheer against them?

[Oilers fan, it's a part of my DNA to hate them. But the Ducks are really booooooring.]

Towards the end of the Calgary @ Anaheim game, Ryan Kesler adopted a rather non-standard method of protecting the puck.

As a once-Vancouverite, I always have such mixed feelings about this asshole. Man.
