Some really great images from the handshake line at the end of the Ottawa @ Boston game. I love the mad respect every Bruin seems to have for Erik Karlsson, and vice versa.

I don't exactly follow the Senators, but I got the general impression that Karlsson pretty much put the team on his back to get them this far so I was all awww....at the Bruins paying proper respect to him as well (and thanks for the links :)).

For the last month, Karlsson has been playing with two hairline fractures in his foot - just as everyone was suspecting - and he was still the best player on the ice in this series and he had ridiculous minutes.

He set up some very crucial goals and proved that he's the 3rd best hockey player in the world at the moment (behind Crosby & McJesus). I really hope he gets the Norris because they probably won't even think about how much he deserves the Hart.

ayrt

I wanted Karlsson to get the Norris *last* year (a--I hate Doughty for off-ice shit and b--iirc EK's on-ice numbers were better or at least comparable besides), him getting it this year would make me very happy. Because yeah, despite almost certainly meeting the "most valuable to his team" part of the Hart requirements, playing D means he probably *isn't* going to get much if any consideration for it, much less a shiny replica of it to take home.

(I'm knocking on wood his foot heals cleanly and without leaving him any more fond of pain meds than he started out, regardless of what happens with the Rangers or award-wise.)
