Injury report is out for the Sharks. Lots of broken bones. Donskoi had a separated shoulder, which is just great.

Jumbo was playing with a torn ACL and MCL, which is just great. Someone on the Sharks subreddit was speculating that that might be it for him, since ACL recovery takes a hell of a long time, he's a UFA right now, and he's just really fucking old, but that's too fucking depressing for me to believe right now. It'd be tough to see either him or Patty leave San Jose after so long, but it's really feeling unlikely that we keep both of them.

I didn't even think Thornton would make the playoffs when I saw his knee do that. (damned if I can remember what game it was but I remember seeing his knee get wrecked.)

It would've been smarter for him to sit out, but hockey players are fucking dumbasses. It probably really stung to see those two short handed goals against in game two while he was benched, but man, think about your ability to walk in the future, ffs.

I'm more okay with the Sharks being out knowing that it means Jumbo isn't going to wreck himself any further, but I'm still really anxious, wondering if this is it. It really does feel like this was the final edge of our cup window for the old guys, but even that aside, I just don't want them gone.

I do get the desire for one last try, and maybe they were confident he couldn't do more damage.

It probably depends on how he recovers, so you never know what will happen, maybe they have another shot left.

LeBrun reported that he's getting knee surgery now, so it seems to have been pretty serious. I guess we'll have to see.

Lozo's tweet about this and hockey players + injuries was great.
