#29 – Lay, Lie, or Laine?

This is the twenty-ninth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

For some reason, after France defeated Finland 5-1, the goalie was not selected as France's player of the game. Bellemare, who was named it, as well as their teammates and the fans, did not like that decision. PEB refused and insisted that it go to Hardy (the goalie) instead.

"I didn't actually hear my name," Bellemare said of being announced as the player of the game. "I was clapping for [Hardy], looking at him, then he heard my name. This was not right."

awww...gotta love your goalie. but yeah, imo 40+ saves and only one goal allowed outweigh PEB's goal and assist so i'm not surprised nobody including him was happy about that and he refused the award and watch.

(also, nhl.com fails editing, body copy and the tweet both say 42 saves but the headline has 41.)
