In case you all wanted more details: on Leafs Lunch today, Dreger mentioned that he thinks it's a cut in the upper thigh region but Hockey Canada is tight lipped on who the other teammate involved was.

The added secrecy really makes it seem like a lie.

Oh? What's your theory? I say duelling with skate blades.

Mine is that they were eating in bed and got distracted with making out before clearing the cutlery and Tyson got forked in the buttocks. I'm totally making making this scenario up and not speaking from experience.

I think he somehow hurt himself while drunk, tbqh. I don't know why "wrestling with a teammate" is better than "got trashed and fell down in the streets of Paris" but I have a feeling it's something like that.

That was my first thought too. But I think there has to be at least an element of truth. Maybe they were wrestling (or fighting even) but completely wasted. Otherwise why even mention a teammate and not just say he fell or something like Corey Crawford at the Rise Against concert circa 2015?

I think it's definitely wrestling with a teammate while drunk. Maybe some damage to the hotel room too.

Sex injury received while with a player on another team, who obviously he can't say he was, uh "wrestling" at the time.

I wonder if we could use process of elimination to figure out who his roommate is.

Original tweet said teammate, not roommate, so I don't think that would necessarily help.

The more I think about it, the more MacKinnon makes the most sense, especially if HC doesn't want the other teammate's name to get out there. He's something of a HC golden boy, even compared to other names like Schenn or O'Reilly (other guys that Barrie is close to). So I get why they'd want to downplay or hide his role.

And it just really fits their Nate and Tyson brand tbh. They're kind of silly idiots. I think Nate makes Tyson act younger than he is; I always forget he's 25. He's older than Landeskog.

Wow, I had no idea he was older than Landeskog. He seems much younger.

Tyson is older than Landeskog? Well, I just got new ship feelings.

Yup he's a year older. But I get why people don't realize because Gabe seems older. I think they're just in different life phases. Gabe seems more settled down and like he has his life together a bit more. Tyson is still in that early 20s getting so drunk you can barely stand and doing karaoke phase, going by his girlfriend's insta. Or drunk wrestling and injuring yourself phase, I guess.

Tyson did one of those house tours and said something like "I'm a long way away from having kids," to rationalize turning an extra room into a ministicks play area. Whereas I can see Gabe married with a baby on the way within the next two years.

I just snorted really loud. Well done.

DA Tyson was drafted the same year as ROR and Duchene, but Gabe started in the NHL straight away and Tyson stayed in Kelowna and then went to the AHL.
