#29 – Lay, Lie, or Laine?

THE RULES

I thought it was a little twee, yeah. Might have made me nope out of a longer story, but I don't begrudge them trying something a little unique on the 20th or whatever iteration of high school friends-to-lovers for that pairing, if it's one they wanted to write.

"a little twee" is this author's whole thing. Imo how bearable it is varies from fic to fic, but I liked this one. She has others that are worse.

ayrt - yeh, I realized, well after I read the fic and went back to look at their dashboard, that I'd confused this author for another one. I thought I'd read a bunch of their fic, but I only recognize the bergeron/seguin sugar daddy one. If this is their whole ~style~ then, yeah, I think I'd get tired of it.


To bring yet a third author into it, I think it's ferritin who does the whole --section breaks with single sentences-- thing in all their fic, and while I don't hate that, that's absolutely at the point where it's a distraction for me.

DA Yeah, I'd say I found some of her other fic unfinishable but I like this pairing a lot and it was a quick read and enjoyable. I did start rolling my eyes at the first line of each section after a few scenes but the rest of it was fine.
