Nominees have been narrowed down to one candidate per team! I used randomresults.com for random seeding and created a bracket on google docs, which you can peruse here:

There will be five rounds, and voting for each round will be through google forms. I'll stick each round in its own subthread for organizational purposes.

Each matchup is on its own page. You'll need to click through each page and hit submit at the end, but you don't have to vote on every matchup. I used the team headshots for each candidate--for Hilary Knight, I had to use one of her Team USA headshots, and for Erica Kromm I used one of her photos for the Inferno (It's a bit smaller than some of the others, so sorry about that).

I was thinking of having voting for each round open for 3-4 days, with this round ending at 12pm EST on Monday, May 23rd. If you think more/less time would work better, let me know! Also, feel free to campaign for your chosen candidates (i.e. link all the pictures/videos/gifs that you can find) in the comments!

Yeah, he hasn't played well since the Rangers series, tbh. I've actually liked that Horny-Sid-Geno line; I'd like to see a bit more of that.

I wonder if Sheary could still be injured from the knee-on-knee? He seems like he's lost a step. I don't think Malkin on Crosby's wing should be a fixed line, because I think they're still benefiting from the match up problem of three high-powered lines, but I would have liked to see Malkin and Crosby have more ES time together when they were trying to get that last goal to tie it up.

For me, it's not his speed, it's his ability to handle the puck which is terrible.

I just watched on nhln. Way too much game footage, surely Showtime realizes that their viewers have already watched the games they spend so much time (boringly) recapping? There's almost nothing in this that probably most fans haven't already gotten from the teams' twitters. The coaches' intermission speeches were good, as were the two seconds of practice/training footage. I would have liked to see more practice, equipment management, front office behind the scenes stuff, though they're probably limited in how much they're allowed to show.

Is anyone planning to do mm_rares? There's a bunch of hockey ships nominated but the minimum offer and request is four fandoms.

Possibly. Also, check the crossover section. Some hopeful nonny nominated Giroux/Giroud and Crosby/Rodgers.

I'm waffling on whether I want to do it or the polyexchange. I'm already planning on doing Rarepairs Fest, too, but I probably won't be requesting hockey for that one.

Wilson vs Pirri was so hard. So hard! Most of the others had a clear cut winner for me, but that one was a struggle. Though the universe is also unfair in taking either Monahan or Price down in the first round.

tyson barrie vs roman josi is so difficult! i'm also loling at dylan strome's picture. i hope his buddies have gotten some mileage out of that one.

Well that doesn't sound too appealing. The only time game footage is interesting is when the players are mic'd but even then I still don't need more than 2 minutes of it.
