Re: How will things go for the first out NHL player?
From: (Anonymous)I don't think a super private guy's need for privacy would evaporate the minute he hit retirement. I mentioned the fact that he's private in my longer explanation against the responsibility/obligation argument, which reads to me like someone's pretending that RL Crosby is the same guy who appears in fanfiction again.
Re: How will things go for the first out NHL player?
From: (Anonymous)Yeah, true enough, but life would look different once you're out of the circus. I guess I was just thinking of how much it would suck to have to deal with even more homophobic/sexist taunting than Croz already does, people asking you and your teammates stupid or at least repetitive questions all the time, potential for endorsements to be withdrawn, annoying media stuff and thinkpieces and whatnot. Way more of a pressure-cooker situation while you're an active player. But anyway, this is all speculation. Probably we'll find out at Christmastime that he married his fiancée over the summer ;)
Re: How will things go for the first out NHL player?
From: (Anonymous)And then Pittsburgh, who hadn't known how to take their big gay superstar, is like "fuck that, American-made is good enough for our Sid!"
Meanwhile, Sid is secretly falling for guy from and is like "shit, this is going to be worse than coming out in the first place".
