Just reading kinkyfics' tags, holy shit. No wonder anon thinks hockey RPF is tame.

is kinkyfics the one who writes a lot of extreme underage?

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

Some of the fics are tagged as that. I'm trying to find one that isn't.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
They do write a fair bit of it, but it's always tagged and easy to avoid.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
Yeah, they are. If you filter out "extreme underage" there are 30 fics left, and if you filter out "underage" there are only 12. I do enjoy the stuff that's not extreme underage, though (to each their own etc etc).

The extreme underage stuff is something else entirely, but a lot of Teen Wolf stuff is tagged underage purely because it features high school students.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
She has 90+ works and if you filter out all variants of underage it goes down to 12? Although I guess people do slap underage tags on stuff involving 16-17 yr olds and it's a high school fandom.

kinkyfics is, uh, pretty far on the kinky side even for TW, but there's heaps of slightly less dirtybadwrong stuff all over the fandom. The Peter Hale/Stiles Stilinski tag is a good place to start if you're in the market for some nasty.

If anyone wants spn stuff, the kinkmeme pinboard is still really active. All the depravity your heart desires.

Another SPN anon here, and yeah, hockey is so vanilla compared to the baseline of kinkiness that I am used to. The kind of anguished shaming that goes on in hockey fandom about a single dirtybadwrong thing boggles my mind, when SPN RPF had both the main Js and also Jeffrey Dean Morgan featuring as pure kinky evil on a regular basis.

Haha, yeah. I boggled quite a bit when I first got into SPN but I came to appreciate the "anything goes" aesthetic because it was very freeing and resulted in a lot of creativity, even if there were certain things I tended to stay away from. Now I'm in a fandom where people get the vapors. I can only imagine what would happen if someone translated your most basic Evil!Person SPN fic to hockey.

The mind boggles. I almost feel like it could be good for the fandom, if a handful of people got together who were willing to sock it up or withstand the pushback and just post the kinkiest weirdest fic they could fathom - on AO3, in the kinkmeme. Revel in it, you know? Let people see that that was okay, and if you didn't think it was, that was your problem. Guerilla porn, if you will.

I mean, I know in this fandom there's some potential hazards there. But I wouldn't mind this fandom getting its perspective broadened a little, even if there wasn't a single fic out of the bunch I personally wanted to read.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

Anonymous also works for this...

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

That's true, but I dunno, that seems less fun to me, if for no other reason that no one would even be able to know that the author wrote more than one fic - unless they made them into a series or a collection, I guess.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
I could foresee a problem with this just due to this fandom's history. I do with people would porn for great justice, though.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
I read that as "Gorilla porn" and thought, well, yeah, that'd probably work.

(Obviously what we need is a lot of "players turn into their mascots and bang" fic. Sid/Ovi penguin/eagle hot cloaca action.)

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)
I would sock it up (or use my existing sock) and write it, I just have no idea what to write. I check the kinkmeme, but nothing's been inspiring so far.

Like, if we had a meme initiative for "Write Your Weirdest and Kinkiest!" That would be fun! For some reason I was thinking organizing in namespace, but via meme would actually make more sense.

Possibly this initiative would first involve prompting at the kinkmeme to help nonnies be inspired. What sort of thing would interest you, nonnie? What are you looking for?

If we were doing this as a joint fest thing, someone could setup a fest on AO3, set it to anon, and then just never reveal.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

Unhelpful, but I'm not sure! I'm down to write a lot of kinks and would prefer rarepairs or threesomes, though.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

I feel like part of the issue is that hockey rpf is all non-AU, and SPN had a healthy tradition of AUs that provided more distance between actors and the RPF characters based on them.

I have a terribad dark kink fic in my head, but it's a time thing. For a fest, I might see if I could write a non-epic version.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

From: (Anonymous)

That's very true about SPN being full of AUs. That might be key difference, now that you say it.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

I think if you're used to the Js being different people in every fic, there's a lot more distance when someone writes one as an evil rapist who kidnaps and castrates their love interest. If you did it with Sid, I think people would get upset just out of "Sid isn't like that and he wouldn't do that to Geno!" Which, you know, duh. But fic Sid is associated more closely with the real person, even though fanon is its own thing and Sid probably isn't a toaster either.

That said, I think an infusion of kink would be good for fandom and maybe shake things up a bit, and fandom at large may be more supportive post-CWM. Doing it on AO3 seems like a good idea.

Re: Multifandom Nonnies

I agree, hockey rpf clearly has a problem with some people not understanding YKINMK but I don't see it ever reaching SP-RPF levels of acceptance either. There are things I would read in other fandoms that seriously squick me out here, because of that lack of distance. So I definitely think this fandom needs to be less judgemental and have a space for dirtybadwrongness but on a personal level I'm glad it's not as prevalent as in some other fandoms. Also there are plenty of non rpf fandoms that are pretty tame too so I think part of it is simply different fandoms being built on different tropes.

I've been around this fandom for a while, on various platforms, and it's kind of amazing to me how... unkinky it's become. When I first started, people were posting some really dark, weird, fucked up stuff (to enthusiastic support/reviews too). Then that all changed after fandom migrated from LJ to AO3 and sometimes I wonder why. Younger fen? Fandom's more socially conscious? More critical? Just changing tastes/proclivities?
