Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)Thank you for explaining! That's such a useful function, way better than orphaning everything.
Wait, when things are oprhaned, does it say they're "by Orphan" or "by Anonymous" or something else?
Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)I would be violently opposed to orphaning my fic, but I've used Anon collections before. I think they're really useful!
I don't really know what happens when things are orphaned, other than the fact that they are denoted as orphaned somewhere on the fic.
Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)When things are orphaned, the author is listed as orphan_account. Which is an actual account that you can click on and see all the fic that has been orphaned on it: http://archiveofourown.org/users/orphan_account/pseuds/orphan_account . Some poor person new to AO3 must've thought that this orphan_account person was really fucking prolific at some point.
Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)I'm really curious now, going through some of these fandom lists.
Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)Wow, so many hockey fics I've read. I wonder why they all got orphaned.

From: (Anonymous)Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)Thenorthface deleted her tumblr and twitter account for life balance reasons after making a big move. She says she'll still be posting fic.
Re: writing thread
From: (Anonymous)I know I've got one in there somewhere for an old fandom that got an archive import which was a piece of undeniable shit (it had the entirety of a song's lyrics and a suicide!) that was written when I was really young. It got claimed and promptly orphaned, purely because I have a personal thing about never deleting fic.
So it could be anything.
