I think someone could make like a collection of pics where they "heterosexually stare longingly into each other eyes", as the other nonny put it.

What is Ovechkin even wearing in that picture?

Re: The Story You Want

NA

A phrase that could be said about most of Ovi's fashion choices. :)

Re: The Story You Want

I kind of want a fashion designer!Ovechkin AU now.

A smile. :)

Now i'm wondering if Ovie is actually very passionate about stopping pirate fishing or if he just thought the shirt was cool (or maybe both)

Shirts with English writing on them--often nonsensical--are popular in Russia. Most Russians don't necessarily have any idea what it says. Ovi is very, very fond of graphic t-shirts, and it really doesn't seem to matter what is on them.

Same in a lot of countries I think - in France for sure. Kind of like American's Chinese tattoos that might mean nothing.

Ovechkin has those too. :D

Now that I think of it, most of Ovi's tattoos are words, and I don't think any of them are in Russian/Cyrilic. I think they're all in English, and whatever kanji his tramp stamp is.

Re: The Story You Want

From: (Anonymous)
He has an English script tattoo in honor of his late brother. Tumblr told me he just liked the way it looked in English better. And his kanji mean family and life. Making fun of them as tramp stamps doesn't sit well with me when they're clearly very personal.

Nonny, if we can't make fun of people's tattoos on their lower back in a language they don't speak or comprehend, what can we make fun of?

Re: The Story You Want

From: (Anonymous)
A lot of people have pcb license plates that relate to their families and have personal meaning. That's true of most tattoos.

Re: The Story You Want

NA

People call them tramp stamps because of where they are, nobody knows or probably cares how personal they are. If he wanted people to take them all as seriously as they take, for example, Letang's Bourdon tattoo, he should've picked a less made fun of spot and trend.

I don't think he cares what people think of them. I just kind of feel that making fun of him for things that are about his dead brother is a bit unfortunate.

Re: The Story You Want

No one's making fun of his English tattoo about his brother. They're making fun of his choice to get kanji tattoos on his lower back that reportedly say "life" and "family". You can argue it's about his brother all you want, but the trend of getting tattoos of a single word (or in this case a pair of them) in a language you don't know so that it ~looks cooler~ than if you did it in your own is a laughable one, and I don't feel bad about mocking it.

Oh good grief. Get the fuck over yourself. He doesn't know you and he doesn't care what you or anyone else says on a fucking anonmeme. He doesn't even know what an anonmeme is, nor does he care.

Nobody is making fun of his tattoos about his brother--though I'm not above doing so, because that tattoo itself is fug as hell. I think his love for his brother is beautiful. That tattoo is nasty. And the tramp stamp is entirely about the placement of the kanji, regardless of what it says. I'm pretty sure that Ovi would laugh if you said that to him.
