This is the eleventh post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

I don't think Kane would have a 'don't rape' clause, but if he's had problems with alcohol abuse (or other substances) leading to fights and incidents, and the club's quietly put him through treatment programs, they could put a provision in there about him having to stay clean and off the booze.

The NHLPA says clubs need to help treat players addictions or mental health issues, but players also have to co-operate with treatment programs -- including going to therapy, staying clean and sober, or submitting to drug or alcohol tests. Because binge drinking or habitual drunkenness would also affect his health and performance, and failing to cooperate could affect team morale.

So, a drink or two to celebrate winning the Stanley Cup would probably be okay, but extreme drunkenness and resulting douchebaggery could be a breach of contract. The NHLPA would still grieve the case, though, just on general principles.
