Yeah, I think putting aside that you grew up as a fan of team x would be a bit different than putting aside the fact that team x fucked over/up your relative.

What other stand-out instances have there been where a player has been fucked over by his team besides the ones ayrt mentioned?

DA Jeff Carter was traded between the short period between when he signed a no trade clause and when it kicked in, so there a few others. There have also been cases of very mismanaged injuries and the like (there was a guy who had chronic bronchitis the whole time he played for Colmbus without knowing why he was sick, then it was managed almost as soon as he was traded to the Rangers). I'm confident that there are a lot that we don't know about, such as shitty contract negotiations. And when viewed through the eyes of a child, anything that's on the fence looks worse.
