This is the eleventh post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Seems stupid to want to trade for him without knowing if he'll be charged or not. He'll most likely will be suspended by the NHL if he's charged and will sit out until the end of trial, which can take a long time. If found guilty he's done in the NHL. Why trade away players when the return is so uncertain?

It's basically trading in futures. If you're the Hawks, selling, you're betting he's a liability. That he will either get convicted this time or continue to behave in ways that detract from the brand.* If you're a team offering to trade for him, you're betting that he'll get off without a conviction (maybe won't even be arrested) and you'll be able sweep his behavior under a rug and any risk is worth it because you'll be getting him for cheap.

People trade futures and risks all the time. This is just a particularly gross example.


*Please note that I'm speculating about how Hawks management would see him, not expressing my own opinion, which is that he's a rapist and should not be playing anywhere, full stop.
