#11 - Kopitar Prefers Amps That Go to Eleven

In this hypothetical situation, isn't the pregnant guy already in labor and hiding it? So I don't think he would care about the air pressure causing people to go into labor, lol.

Also, I googled it, and couldn't find anything about it being illegal or prohibited to fly when pregnant. Just a lot of "shouldn't" and "consult your doctor."

Wait, I lied! Upon further reading, some airlines require a doctor's note in the last month. Only some of them, though. Plenty of them have no restrictions.

No one's saying you shouldn't fly while pregnant. Everyone's saying at 40 weeks (even if the dude is hiding his magical anchor baby) an airline is unlikely to allow them to board.

I find it funny that Spirit has an actual restriction for "if signs of labor are present". Has our hypothetical scenario happened before?

I'm currently reading horror stories about it, so now I'm wondering about the citizenship implications if the baby gets born on the flight.

God, imagine going through all that effort and the kid ends up being born before the plane crosses the border on a plane that's registered in Russia or Sweden or something. Is triple citizenship a thing?

Imagine the kid trolling the media. "IDK, I've always felt really grateful to Sweden for extending citizenship to me...I really, really love Sweden and want to visit there soon..." and then in the next interview "well of course due to my mother I feel very, very close to my Russian heritage..." and then the next day "oh, I love Canada, we go there every summer!"

I think my favorite scenario is one where he's actually really good at hockey, but decides not to pursue it professionally and focus on other stuff instead. And so four nations weep.

NA This reminds me of a fic I read once where Sid had a huge secret to tell his teammates that he was really worried about and one of his teammates was wondering if Sid was actually secretly American and the Americans were challenging the golden goal from Vancouver 2010. Imagine if it was true!

ayrt I don't remember exactly what fic it was, nonnie :( I think it was an S/G fic but Sid's secret had nothing to do with being a secret American, it was just a teammate jumping to a conclusion!

Not to mention people who are far along, but don't get huge, and don't know the rule, which I can see happening to our Canadian papa. He buys a ticket and no one warns him, because they can't tell he's pregnant.
